Alice in Nowhere

Alice never meant to wander. She only wanted to see where the whispers came from.

The mirror in her nursery hummed when the moon rose, soft and strange — so she pressed her palm against the glass... and it pressed back. One step became two, and the world behind her blinked shut like a doll’s eye.

The sky there was painted in ink. The flowers bled clockwork tears. The tea party never ended, and the guests had all forgotten their names. The Cheshire grin belonged to no face at all — it floated above her, promising riddles she’d never survive.  

Now Alice drifts between the shimmer and the shadow, half-stitched to our world, half-lost to her reflection. Her eyes still glimmer with curiosity — or maybe it’s the candlelight flickering behind the glass.

If you see her smile in a darkened mirror,

don’t wave back.

She’s still searching for someone to trade places with.
