They say Hannibelle was born with a hunger for what she could not have.

No one knew why she bit… only that she did. Softly at first, then sharper each time, until her laughter was stained in red.

The others begged the seamstress to fix her, to make her safe — and so she stitched a mask of black leather over Hannibelle’s mouth, each seam a warning, each thread a vow: “No more biting.”

But leather cannot tame teeth. Behind that mask, her grin still grows, quiet and waiting.

Her hair, streaked black and gray, tumbles like smoke. Her red and black dress flutters with ribbons and lace — as if dressed for her next feast.

If she reaches for your hand, remember — she doesn’t mean to hurt you.
She just… can’t help herself.
